Our neighborhood association is proud of the accomplishments made during the last couple of years. Here are some of them:
EBNA worked successfully with City Hall to transition Traveler and Washington streets to two ways to minimize traffic congestion, improve circulation and the improve the quality of life.
EBNA worked with city officials to add a travel lane to East Berkeley Street during rush hour.
EBNA worked successfully with the Arts Commission and Parks Department to remove the once beautiful Land Wave structure that had fallen into a state of disrepair.
EBNA worked with the Parks Department to advocate for the implementation of improvements to Peters Park, some of which were funded by EBNA through IAG funds and EBNA’s 2016 fundraiser.
EBNA successfully rebranded itself from the original Old Dover Neighborhood Association to reflect the changing community and the culture that the association had forged and were promoting.
EBNA successfully integrated the Ink Block neighborhood group into our association to expand our reach and work to promote all of the neighborhood’s needs.
EBNA’s neighborhood meetings have included a number of our elected and government officials, including Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz, Representative Aaron Michlewitz, Councilor Ed Flynn, Councilor Annissa Essaibi George, and Faisa Sharif from the Mayor’s Office.
EBNA has supported and members have taken part in various neighborhood initiatives including Love Your Block cleanup and daffodil and tulip plantings.
EBNA has worked closely with numerous potential businesses, including construction developments and restaurants for review and approval while balancing the needs of the neighborhood. Many of these entities gave presentations at our meetings for our attendees.
EBNA continually supports the businesses in our neighborhood by providing opportunities to be a Business Spotlight at our monthly meetings.
EBNA has been successful in growing the general membership and attracting individuals to be involved in our board and many of our activities for the community. EBNA’s healthy treasury due to our increased membership has allowed us to donate to various neighborhood non-profit organizations and drives (ie, Project Place, Toys for Kids, South End Feeds, South End Athletics, etc.).
EBNA has continued to hold general and board meetings each month via zoom, in spite of the pandemic which prevented in person meetings. The attendance at these virtual meetings has been excellent, and we are thrilled that the organization has been active throughout this period.
